DAY 1

Arrival at Colombo Airport – Transfer to Negombo

Upon arrival at Colombo International Airport, you will be warmly greeted by our representative and transferred to your hotel in Negombo, a charming fishing town just a 30-minute drive from the airport.

Relax and enjoy the comforts of your hotel and its surroundings to unwind and recover from your journey.

DAY 2

Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage – Dambulla/Sigiriya

Depart Negombo around 7:30 AM and journey towards Sigiriya or Dambulla, the cultural heart of Sri Lanka. En route, visit the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage, where you can witness baby elephants roaming around their foster home, being bottle-fed, or bathed by their human caretakers—a truly unforgettable experience.

Continue your journey to Sigiriya via Dambulla, stopping at the Dambulla Cave Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This is the largest and best-preserved cave temple complex in Sri Lanka, adorned with intricate paintings and ancient sculptures.

DAY 3

Polonnaruwa Ancient City & Minneriya National Park

After breakfast, embark on a journey to the Ancient City of Polonnaruwa, another UNESCO World Heritage Site in Sri Lanka. Explore the impressive ruins of this historic city, including the Royal Citadel, the Audience Hall, the Vatadage Temple, the relic chambers, stone-carved statues, and ancient kovils.

After lunch, drive to either Minneriya or Kaudulla National Park. A visit to Sri Lanka would be incomplete without witnessing elephants in the wild. Depending on the season, you may be fortunate enough to see the world-famous gathering of Asian elephants, the largest of its kind on the planet.

DAY 4

Laid-Back Rhythms of Village Life

Immerse yourself in the relaxed pace of village life in Sri Lanka.

Drive to Hiriwadunna Village to witness the authentic daily life of local villagers. The tour includes a bullock cart ride, a serene catamaran boat ride, and a visit to a traditional village home. Explore a local vegetable garden and enjoy a simple yet delicious traditional lunch prepared by the village women.

In the evening, head to Habarana for an exciting elephant-back ride on a tame elephant—a memorable adventure, especially for the kids.

DAY 5

Sigiriya Rock Fortress & Kandy Temple of Tooth Relic

After breakfast, visit the Sigiriya Rock Fortress, a monumental rock rising 200 meters (660 feet) into the sky, which once served as a royal palace. This UNESCO World Heritage Site, constructed in the 5th century AD, is a marvel of ancient engineering, art, and culture.

Following your exploration of Sigiriya, drive to the vibrant city of Kandy.

In the evening, visit the Temple of the Tooth Relic, one of the most sacred sites in the Buddhist world, which has been recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Later, enjoy a captivating cultural show that features traditional Sri Lankan folklore dance, showcasing the country’s rich artistic heritage.

DAY 6

A Journey Through Botanical Gardens and Tea Estate

After breakfast, visit the Royal Botanical Gardens in Peradeniya, renowned for its impressive collection of orchids (over 300 varieties), as well as spices, medicinal plants, and palm trees.

Next, proceed to the Giragama Tea Factory. Sri Lanka is famous for its tea, often regarded as some of the best in the world. At the factory, you’ll witness the journey of tea leaves from the moment the tea pluckers bring in their harvest. Learn about the processes of withering, rolling, fermenting, drying, and sorting. Many of the factory’s machines date back to the British colonial period, offering a fascinating glimpse into tea production.

This visit will be an unforgettable experience for you and your kids.

DAY 7

Journey from Kandy to Ella

After an early breakfast, set off for Ella, a stunning destination perfect for adventure activities or simply relaxing in nature.

Upon arrival, visit the iconic Nine Arch Bridge, an engineering marvel built in the early 20th century. This nearly 100-year-old bridge, located between Ella and Demodara train station, is constructed from stone and cement, showcasing remarkable craftsmanship without the use of strengthening iron or concrete. 

After your visit, check into your jungle hideaway, Ella Jungle Resort.

DAY 8

Jungle Adventures

DAY 9

Beach Stay in Bentota

After breakfast, head to the southwestern coastal belt for your beach holiday.

Upon arrival in Bentota, check into your hotel and unwind on the beautiful beach. Take in the stunning scenery and enjoy a carefree day by the ocean.

Bentota offers a wide range of water sports, from snorkeling and scuba diving to water skiing, banana boat rides, and surfing—there’s something for everyone to enjoy!

DAY 10

Beach Stay – Water Sports & Turtle Care Centre

After breakfast, enjoy a day of sun and sand on Bentota Beach, where you can engage in a variety of water sports as a family.

In the evening, visit the Turtle Care Centre at Kosgoda Beach, established in 1988 to protect Sri Lanka’s turtles from extinction. The Kosgoda Sea Turtle Conservation and Research Centre, the oldest of its kind in the country, has been dedicated to turtle conservation since 1978. Of the seven species of sea turtles on the endangered list, five frequent the southern beaches of Sri Lanka to lay their eggs. 

The center offers an opportunity to volunteer in daily activities such as searching for turtle eggs, transporting them to the hatchery, caring for injured turtles, feeding them, and protecting their habitats. 

One of the most rewarding experiences is releasing newly hatched baby turtles into the sea, typically done in the evening around 6:00–6:30 PM. This heartwarming activity allows you to contribute to the survival of these magnificent creatures. A great activity for kids and even for grown-ups

Departure from Bentota to Airport

After breakfast, take some time to relax and enjoy the comforts of your hotel.
